Here we are again after Raw for my personal recap! Yeah, I know, a little late, but blame the usual tech issues—well, actually just one: work, haha!
The show kicked off strong, setting the stage with our boy Randy Orton! Randy got a huge pop as he’s gearing up to take on Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at
Bash in Berlin. Orton made it clear that despite Gunther trying to make this beef personal with shots at his family and the usual mind games, he ain’t scared. Gunther, with his typical cold German vibe, tried to shake him by calling him a “trick pony.” Seriously? Who’d ever think to call Randy Orton, The Viper, that?! Randy didn’t flinch, ready to prove that his iconic RKO is the ultimate weapon. Then, of course, Gunther’s lapdog Kaiser shows up, and together they leave Randy down on the mat. Man, Gunther’s routine is getting old if you ask me! He can keep playing his usual tricks, but they ain’t gonna work on Randy Orton.
Oh, and by the way, today was Pat McAfee’s last episode at the commentary table for the year. We’re gonna miss him big time!
And here we go with the first match of the night: Sheamus vs. Pete Dunne!
The bell rings, and Dunne dodges Sheamus' Brogue Kick right off the bat, going after him with some serious aggression. Sheamus fires back with a brutal clothesline and tries to lock in the 10 Beats of the Bodhrán, but Dunne fights back, targeting Sheamus’ injured hand. The fight spills outside the ring, with Dunne relentlessly attacking Sheamus' hand.
After the break, Dunne keeps working on Sheamus' hand, but the Irish warrior ain’t backing down. Dunne manages to hit Sheamus with the 10 Beats of the Bodhrán, but Sheamus bounces back, giving Dunne a taste of his own medicine with a whopping twenty Beats!
Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick to finish it, but Dunne catches him with an enzuigiri and a moonsault, only to get wrecked by a knee to the face. Even after a powerbomb from Dunne, Sheamus powers through, breaks free from Dunne's last attempt, and nails him with a Brogue Kick for the win!
The winner is our boy Sheamus! The match was decent, nothing too crazy. The rivalry isn’t bad, but it’s not exactly thrilling either. Let’s be real—it’s worth watching just because Sheamus is in it!
Odyssey Jones joins the New Day, stirring up some tension between Kingston and Woods, who’s worried they might be trying to replace Big E. Kingston reassures Woods, saying he just wants to help Jones like they wished someone had done for them back in the day. Could we be seeing a heel turn from Woods on the horizon?! It’d be wild to see Woods go heel!
Ivy Nile, after knocking out Maxxine Dupri last week, joins Chad Gable's crew, who thinkDamian Priest and Rhea Ripley are ready to take out Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio at Bash in Berlin. The "new, weaker version" of Judgment Day hasn’t been up to par, and the "Terror Twins" promise to silence everyone once and for all. Rhea is ready to prove that Liv is just a cheap version of her.
Then CM Punk arrives, with a leather belt on his shoulder, and the arena erupts in cheers. With his usual charisma, Punk talks about how the fans have always motivated him, and he mentions how Drew McIntyre, despite claiming to hate him, is actually his number one fan. But the highlight? Punk challenges Drew to a Strap Match at Bash in Berlin, promising to leave him with unforgettable scars. Drew, of course, accepts, but with his usual arrogance.
Ironically, even though McIntyre is one of my favorites, my heart always beats for Punk. Punk is simply too great. Drew is a warrior, but in the end, who can resist the charm of the Best in the World? I have to say this moment and this storyline is one of the best of the episode! This rivalry is interesting and very well done! Kudos to Triple H and the entire creative team!
s he’s finally nailed his "American Made" vision. Gable’s trying to hype Nile up to take down Maxxine and the Alpha Academy, but honestly, it’s looking more like a desperate move to stay relevant.
In the match between Maxxine and Ivy, Dupri comes out swinging, throwing Ivy out of the ring and smashing her onto the commentary table. Just as Nile starts to bounce back, the lights go out, and Nikki "Sister Abigail" Cross makes a dramatic entrance. Gable and the Creed Brothers rush in to protect Nile, but the Wyatt Sicks take them out like it’s nothing. Gable, who’s looking more like a washed-up wannabe, gets laid out by Uncle Howdy with the Sister Abigail, while the Wyatt Sicks take over the ring with their creepy pose.
I gotta say, even though the match got cut short, Maxxine is really stepping up her game. She’s grown a lot and definitely has some serious potential!
Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley are ready to take out Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio at Bash in Berlin. The "lame new version" of Judgment Day didn't live up to the hype, and the "Terror Twins" are promising to shut everyone up once and for all. Rhea is ready to show that Liv is just a knockoff version of her.
Then CM Punk comes out, sporting a leather belt on his shoulder, and the arena erupts in cheers. With his usual charisma, Punk talks about how the fans have always motivated him, and mentions how Drew McIntyre, despite claiming to hate him, is actually his number one fan.
Punk is just too big. Drew is a warrior, but in the end, who can resist the charm of the Best in the World? Gotta say, this moment and this storyline is one of the best of the episode! This rivalry is interesting and very well done! Kudos to Triple H and the entire creative team!
The WWE Women's World Champion Liv Morgan and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio are backstage. If Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley think they stand a chance against them at Bash in Berlin, they're completely out of their minds. According to them, they are the most dominant couple in WWE history and no one can touch "Daddy Dom" and get away with it. Dominik can't wait to get his hands on Priest, promising that he's no longer the boy who could be pushed around. He wants a face-to-face showdown without any interference, if Priest has the guts.
Liv and Dominik, backstage, declare that they will teach Damian and Rhea a lesson at Bash in Berlin. According to them, they are the most dominant couple in WWE and woe to anyone who touches "Daddy Dom"! Dominik then wants to face Priest one-on-one, because he's not the "little" Dominik anymore. If Priest has the courage, of course, because now he has become a "real man"! To me, he seems like a kid, but hey, he's convinced!
Another match of the evening: 6-Man Tag Team Match - New Day with Odyssey vs The Final Testament:
The New Day and Odyssey Jones take on the Final Testament (Karrion Kross and the Authors of Pain). After a rough start for Kingston, Jones gets into action, taking down anyone in his path. Despite some tension within the team, the New Day and Jones win with a spectacular triumph. However, Woods doesn't seem too happy, maybe he doesn't like sharing the spotlight, or the fact that his teammate preferred Odyssey over the tag? Mhm, things don't look good for the New Day! Of course, Kofi is not behaving very well, it's obvious that he prefers Odyssey who, no doubt, is a force of nature! For me, everyone has realized that Woods will turn heel! And as they say in Tuscany, I like it!
Damian Priest reassures Rhea Ripley, who fears that the match with Dominik is a trap. Priest, romantic and brave, promises to navigate a minefield with her, just to judge this "lame version" of Judgment Day.
Another match of the evening: No Disqualification Match - Bronson Reed vs The Miz.
The Miz takes on "Big" Bronson Reed, who brutalizes him with chairs, kendo sticks, and a devastating Tsunami. Miz tries to fight back, but Reed is too much for him. After crushing Miz through a table, Reed wins, but he's not satisfied yet and wants to inflict another Tsunami on him. At this point, Braun Strowman enters the ring, leaving Reed surprised, and finally someone to give it to Bronson Reed! Uh! I really don't like Bronson Reed! Even though Bronson Reed won, I was rooting for The Miz!
Backstage interview:
Bron Breakker, Intercontinental Champion, boasts of overcoming Sami Zayn and complains that Adam Pearce is organizing a tournament to find his next challenger. Breakker, in a very humble way, reminds everyone that it's not his fault that he's a "genetic freak" and a "badass." In the end, he threatens to destroy anyone who wins the tournament. What can I say? Confident, right?
"Dirty" Dominik Mysterio vs. Damian Priest
Damian Priest makes his entrance, but he quickly notices something is off. And he's right! Carlito, JD McDonagh, and Finn Bálor try to attack him, but Priest is not caught off guard: he sends Carlito and McDonagh packing with chairs, and is about to do the same to Bálor when Carlito manages to save his buddy. But Priest doesn't back down and delivers a sweet superkick to both, while Bálor makes a run for it.
In the ring, Rhea Ripley materializes behind Mysterio, who looks like he's seen a ghost. Before he can escape, Priest lays him out with a solid smack, and Rhea goes to "redecorate" the commentary table. Priest tosses Mysterio out of the ring, but Rhea catches him mid-air. Just when everything seems fine, Liv Morgan shows up with a steel chair and starts hammering Ripley! Priest tries to fight back, but Carlito knocks him out cold with his Backstabber, and the Judgment Day crew take control.
The Judgment Day crew hold Priest down to watch Morgan brutalize Ripley. Then, Bálor finishes him off with a Coup de Grâce. Morgan continues the assault, and Mysterio seals the deal with a Frog Splash in perfect Eddie Guerrero style. The crowd isn't pleased, but the new Judgment Day reigns supreme over the "Terror Twin."
In the backstage scenes, which are my favorites, you already know, the New or fake Judgment Day celebrate like there's no tomorrow. Finn Bálor announces that this was just a taste of what will happen at Berlin Bash. "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio points out that Priest was champion only because of Judgment Day, while JD McDonagh argues that he's no longer champion because of them. Carlito wraps it up with a "that's cool," while Liv Morgan vows to make Ripley pay dearly. I'd hold off on celebrating, so to speak, I don't see Rhea Ripley and Damien Priest as easy targets and pretending to battle doesn't count! I can't wait for Bash in Berlin, we'll see some good stuff!
Another match of the night: WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
Triple Threat Match: Damage CTRL vs. Pure Fusion Collective vs. The Unholy Union (c's)
The bell rings, and chaos erupts among the three teams. The Unholy Union gets sent out of the ring. Sky tries to toss Sane over the ropes, but the execution falls short. Despite a small hiccup, Sane still manages to hit the opponents with a sort of improvised plancha.
As the match continues with the usual absurd "two at a time" rules, Sane takes down Stark with a DDT, but Baszler gets in the mix. Sane, however, doesn't back down and keeps striking. Fyre enters the scene and, with Dawn's help, gets her hands on Sky, but the chaos intensifies. Baszler and Stark attempt a devastating combo, but Sane intervenes with a flying crossbody, followed by a flurry of blows between her and Baszler.
The ending is total chaos: Fyre hits Baszler, but Dawn steals the tag and applies a Kirifuda Clutch. While Baszler seems unstoppable, Fyre hits her with a senton bomb that secures the victory.
The winners and still WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions: The Unholy Union!
Randy Orton vs. Ludwig Kaiser
The crowd immediately heats up with chants of "Let’s go, Randy/Kaiser sucks," and Orton is more than pleased about it. The two size each other up, and after some back and forth, Orton takes down Kaiser with a shoulder block, followed by the classic "Legend Killer" pose. Kaiser tries to resist, but Orton floors him with a headlock takeover and then hits him with an uppercut. Kaiser rolls out of the ring to catch his breath, but Orton follows him and, after a few hits, slams him into the commentary table. He's about to finish Kaiser with a back suplex when he sees Gunther watching him from ringside. Distracted, Orton falls victim to a chop block to his already injured knee, and Kaiser takes advantage by slamming him onto the commentary table.
After the break, Orton is still standing and grappling with Kaiser, but his knee is giving him trouble. Kaiser capitalizes on the situation and continues to work on Orton's leg, while Gunther lurks menacingly at ringside. Orton tries to fight back, but Kaiser attacks him again, trying to end the match. However, Orton intercepts Kaiser with a devastating clothesline outside the ring, sending him flying onto the commentary table four times, all under the increasingly concerned gaze of Gunther.
Orton reenters the ring and hits Kaiser with a snap powerslam, still keeping an eye on Gunther. He then tries his draping DDT, but Kaiser blocks it with an enzuigiri. However, Orton still manages to execute a superplex and, with the crowd chanting "RKO," he finishes the match with his signature move. Clear victory for Randy Orton! But were there any doubts??! There's no competition with Randy Orton!!
Gunther, furious, enters the ring, but Orton welcomes him with a barrage of punches. The two exchange blows, but Orton has the final say, sending the World Champion crashing into
the ring post as the show ends. And Kaiser? Well, too German even for him!*
Another episode of Monday Night Raw comes to a close, I have to say it was good, but some matches were good but not that engaging! My favorite parts, where the most captivating storylines were, were definitely the ones involving Randy Orton and the Judgment Day and the Terror Twins! Let me know in the comments what was the most captivating match or storyline??! See you for the Smackdown review on Saturday! And with Monday Night Raw on Tuesday, hopefully or Wednesday if there happens to be another technical issue, 😝😂
