Raw 21 th October 2024

Hey y’all! We’re back with another episode of our favorite red-hot show, Raw!!! And like every Tuesday, here’s my recap of the night!

Tonight, we’re in Philly at the Wells Fargo Center! Not even a second into the show, and backstage, as our favorite superstars arrive, Seth Rollins jumps Bronson Reed. Adam Pearce tries to break it up! Seth, totally fired up, storms to the ring and calls out Bronson right away for a fight! What a wild start! Bronson, tossing security guys like they’re nothing, jumps into the brawl. But unlike their last face-off, Bronson couldn’t hit his tsunami! He even busted up the announcer's table right away! Seriously, one heck of a start! If I had to rate it: 9 outta 10, easily!

We head backstage, where Jackie’s trying to interview Damage Control about the Women’s Tag Titles, but Liv Morgan and her bodyguard Raquel roll up. Liv’s not really doing it for me, but she interrupts, shoos Jackie away, and says she and Raquel can take the tag titles anytime. Io challenges her for tonight’s show, and Liv’s like, “Let’s go!”

Now onto the first match of the night: WWE World Tag Team Title #1 Contendership Tournament First Round Match: The Authors Of Pain (Akam & Rezar) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods).

First-round action to determine who’ll face Finn and JD, and it was a solid match. New Day brought their usual energy and agility, while Final Pain relied on brute strength. The turning point? R-Truth interfered, giving Kofi the win by pinfall to move forward in the tourney. But the real drama hit when the whole Final Testament crew attacked R-Truth, and Xavier Woods had to stop Kofi from rushing to help him! The Wyatt Sick showed up to back R-Truth up! Looks like we’ve got a juicy storyline brewing!

Backstage again, Adam Pearce and Jackie get interrupted by that same Seth and Bronson brawl from earlier! Like, can Jackie ever finish an interview??!

Another backstage moment: Cathy Kelly with Jey Uso. He’s feeling sentimental, saying he wishes his brothers were there with him, especially since Philly is the City of Brotherly Love, but he’s gotta focus on his match later tonight!

Damage CTRL vs. Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez.

Another solid match. Damage Control used their agility, while Raquel brought the power. Both teams traded big shots, some slick moves on both sides, but no winner. Outta nowhere, NXT’s Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend showed up, causing a No Contest!

The wild part was when Rhea Ripley stormed in and wiped the floor with Liv and Raquel! This woman is a straight-up beast! She even laid out Dom when he came to save Liv! In the end, Liv and Raquel had to drag Dom outta there! Hilarious moment!

Back to the backstage chaos: Seth Rollins is trying to talk to Adam Pearce, and Bronson Reed tries to get close, but security holds him back. It’s a whole thing! Pearce finally makes it official: Rollins vs Reed at Crown Jewel. I’m calling it now—Let’s go, Seth Rollins! Always been one of my faves!

WWE World Tag Team Title #1 Contendership Tournament First Round Match: Dragon Lee & Rey Mysterio vs American Made.

Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee joined the War Raiders and New Day in the Tag Title Contendership Finals, thanks to their win over Julius and Brutus Creed on Monday night.

The match was tight, but it all came down to some ringside interference. Zelina Vega, Chad Gable, and Ivy Nile got into it at ringside, causing enough of a distraction for Mysterio to hit the 619, followed by Lee’s frog splash for the win. The match was alright, but nothing crazy exciting, honestly.

And now, the main event: Intercontinental Championship match—Jey Uso vs Bron Breakker.

The match between Jey Uso and Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental title got real messy at the end with all kinds of interference. The Bloodline made their presence known in a big way. After Jey fought off Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tanga Loa, it looked like he had it in the bag. He nailed a massive splash off the top rope, but somehow, Breakker kicked out at two.

Then, Fatu hit Uso with a superkick and followed up with a Samoan Drop through the announcer’s table, setting up Breakker for a Super Spear to get the pin and win his second Intercontinental title, much to the Philly crowd’s dismay.

The match was wild, full of twists and turns, and definitely set up the storyline for Uso’s reunion with his brother Jimmy, Roman Reigns, and possibly a fourth member for Survivor Series: WarGames.

Breakker also got back the title that a lot of people thought he never should’ve lost in the first place. The irony? It was Fatu, the guy Uso threatened last Friday, who ended up costing him the title. It makes sense and sets up a cool side feud with Reigns and Sikoa.

Final result: Breakker defeated Uso and is the new Intercontinental Champion! This match was a banger! As a Jey Uso fan, it hurt to watch, really tough. Now he’ll reunite with Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso, and hopefully, we’ll see Sami Zayn come back into the mix!

To sum it all up: an exciting, action-packed episode, for sure! The standouts were definitely Jey Uso and the Bloodline, the unstoppable Rhea Ripley, and Seth Rollins back in action, making a big comeback!

Catch y’all for SmackDown on Friday and my thoughts on Saturday!

Xoxo,

Selena
