Hey y'all! We’re back with another episode of Smackdown, coming to you live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York! Here’s hoping for a night full of twists and surprises—honestly, judging by the start, I think we’re in for a wild one!
We kick things off with Randy Orton, who’s on his way to the ring but makes a pit stop to talk with Triple H. It’s almost like he’s begging for a match at Crown Jewel, since last week our GM, Nick Aldis, turned him down. Triple H, though, is standing firm, trying to convince Randy he’s just looking out for him, especially after that year and a half-long injury break. But Randy? He’s not backing down one bit! He reminds Triple H of the old days when he was “The Game”—someone who handled business in the ring, not from behind a desk. And just like that, Triple H caves! So it’s official: Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel. But HHH leaves him with one last warning: “Watch your back.” Now, THAT’S how you open a show!
First match of the night is the Series Finale between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes, with LA Knight as the special ref. These two are tied, so this last match is set to be intense! It’s a pretty even match, with LA Knight definitely making his presence known—but not as much as good ol’ Seth Rollins when he decides to get involved. And the end? Total chaos. Hayes accidentally kicks Knight, setting him off. Knight just snaps, hitting them both with his BFT, then announces himself as the “winner” and struts off! Guess at least we got a good laugh out of it.
Meanwhile, backstage drama’s heating up! Nia Jax ditches Tiffany for Candice LeRae and even throws some shade, reminding Tiffany she hasn’t ever beaten Naomi or Bayley. The friendship’s hanging by a thread! Will Tiffany cash in her contract against Nia for revenge? Stay tuned!
Nick Aldis, clearly not too happy with LA Knight’s shenanigans, announces a Triple Threat Match at Crown Jewel: LA Knight vs. Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes. That match is going to be FIRE!
Our second match of the night: Naomi vs. Candice LeRae! Naomi’s in amazing shape, but Candice is on the attack, showing she’s just as fired up. The match really heats up when Indi Hartwell tries to jump Naomi while the ref’s not looking, but Bayley steps in to even the odds. Result? Naomi seals the deal with her signature headscissors DDT and walks away with the win! Sure, a little help from a friend never hurts, but our girl Naomi didn’t disappoint.
And here it is—the faceoff we’ve all been waiting for: Cody Rhodes and Gunter! Gunter starts off mocking Cody and his fans, but Cody isn’t about to be intimidated and fires back with some epic burns. Gunter tries to goad him, calling him a “puppet” with no guts, challenging him to show his real self. Things escalate fast as Ludwig Kaiser and Randy Orton join the brawl, but in the end, Gunter and Ludwig pull a quick exit. Oh, and a little side note: Randy stared a bit too long at Cody’s belt before handing it over… Foreshadowing a betrayal? Let’s wait and see!
And now for the tag title match, thanks to all kinds of crazy events, it’s Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano facing off against Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, a.k.a. MCMG. For long-time fans, this is like a dream match! It’s high-energy, with both teams at their absolute best, but a small miscommunication between Ciampa and Gargano allows MCMG to swoop in for the win. But hold on, it’s not over! The Bloodline shows up! And like some wild video game moment, Nick Aldis throws in a title match right then and there!
MCMG starts strong, but the fresher Bloodline members quickly turn the tide. Jimmy Uso jumps in, attacking the champs Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, which brings Roman Reigns to the ring too.
Total chaos erupts until a masked Jey Uso shows up and lays into the tag champs with a chair. Sabin and Shelley take advantage and walk away as the new tag champs! A huge win for MCMG on only their third WWE match. Respect!
The show wraps up with the Usos embracing in the ring—a moment we were all waiting for! The first step to reuniting the original Bloodline! Roman stands on the ramp, watching them with an intense, almost lonely look. Guess we’ll see if Jey and Reigns will patch things up, but it looks like the OG Bloodline is slowly coming back together. If Paul Heyman and Sami Zayn jump in, the New Bloodline’s in for a war.
And with that, we close out the show! This was a twisty, crazy episode—definitely worth a watch. Can’t wait for Raw on Monday and my recap on Tuesday! See y’all then!
Xoxo, Selena
