Smackdown 15th November 2024

Yo, what’s up everyone! Like every Saturday, here’s my rundown of this week’s SmackDown episode! Time for our favorite blue brand’s theme… Then. Now. Forever. Together.

Tonight, we’re coming to you from the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, and the show kicks off with an absolutely pissed off Cody Rhodes! This episode’s already looking fire! Cody gets the usual roaring ovation from Milwaukee’s crowd, but he’s not here to play.

We get a quick recap of last week’s clash between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton, which ended with a brutal piledriver that sent Orton straight to the hospital. Cody’s mad as hell and calls out Kevin Owens to settle things in the ring, but… nothing. Silence. This just makes him angrier. As Cody’s about to blow, Nick Aldis shows up instead.

Aldis gets why Cody’s heated and doesn’t downplay the situation. He talks about Orton’s injuries, especially after just returning from a long layoff, and how using a banned move like the piledriver could end careers:

"I don’t want a generation of wrestlers in wheelchairs 20 years from now."

Aldis explains Owens crossed a line and that’s why he’s not here tonight. But Cody isn’t having it—he wants to handle it himself. Aldis doesn’t budge, though, and honestly, I get it. He’s just trying to keep things in check.

Cody loses it:

"I get where you’re coming from, but I’m still a wrestler. Try putting yourself in my shoes. How do you think I feel facing Orton’s family and telling them this is my fault? Orton showed me respect backstage at WrestleMania XL, and that meant a lot to me. This needs to be handled. And if I can’t do it in a WWE ring, what do you think I’ll do? You want me to take this outside the ring?"

With that, Cody drops the mic, gives Aldis a death stare, and storms off. The ball’s in the GM’s court now, but Cody isn’t the type to sit around waiting.

Backstage drama incoming! You guys know I love these segments! We catch Jimmy Uso on the phone with Roman Reigns when Jey Uso and Sami Zayn join him. Jimmy’s stressing over strategy for War Games, but there’s a problem—they still need a fifth member. Sami’s got an idea, and he bounces to make a call, leaving the Usos wondering who he’s reaching out to.

Time for the first match of the night:

Women’s United States Championship Tournament – Triple Threat Match

Bayley vs. B-Fab vs. Candice LeRae

This new title is such a dope addition to the women’s roster—props to Triple H for pulling this off! Oh, and by the way, he’s made sure the women are finally getting equal pay too. That’s a W for everyone!

Back to the match: Candice comes out hot, dropkicking Bayley out of the ring, but B-Fab wastes no time going after LeRae with some heavy hits and a powerslam. After a sliding clothesline, B-Fab nearly scores the pin and keeps dominating with a thrust kick. Bayley tries to fight back but gets jumped by Candice—only for Candice to eat a nasty clothesline from B-Fab.

Bayley regains control, landing a big elbow drop on B-Fab for a near fall, but Candice breaks it up. Things heat up with all three women going at it in the ring. Candice nearly steals the win twice and climbs the ropes, only for B-Fab to shove her off. B-Fab sets up for a powerbomb on Bayley, but it turns into a Tower of Doom, leaving everyone flat on the mat.

In the end, Bayley outsmarts them both with a sneaky roll-up on B-Fab for the win, advancing in the tournament!

I’m so hyped for Bayley—she absolutely deserves this. The match, though? Meh. I expected more, especially for a tournament match. Honestly, Candice LeRae doesn’t do much for me compared to other women in the division. Lowkey wouldn’t be surprised if WWE lets her go like they did with Indi Hartwell. What do y’all think?

Backstage, Sami Zayn is seen chatting with LA Knight, trying to convince him to join as the fifth member of the OG Bloodline. Looks like LA Knight isn’t about it, though. The search continues…

LA Knight hits the ring to a massive pop from Milwaukee. The commentators hype up his recent appearances, but he’s here now, mic in hand, to talk about Sami Zayn and the Bloodline civil war. Still, Knight’s got other plans—he wants to defend his United States Championship in an open challenge.

Enter the Legado del Fantasma, with Santos Escobar leading the charge. Escobar grabs the mic and mocks Knight and the crowd before teasing that he’s going after the title. Knight, ever the trash-talker, fires back:

"You and I already danced, amigo. But your boy Berto back there is looking at me like he’s got something to say!"

And just like that, LA Knight vs. Humberto Carrillo is on!

United States Championship – Open Challenge

LA Knight (c) vs. Humberto Carrillo

When we return from commercial, Humberto is already in control. A dropkick from the top rope nearly gets him the pin, but Knight fights back with the crowd firmly behind him. Knight sends Humberto crashing outside and slams him onto the announcers' table before rolling him back into the ring.

Humberto counters with a roll-up and a moonsault, but Knight shuts him down with a bodyslam. Humberto isn’t done yet, hitting a superplex from the top, but Knight rallies with his trademark BFT to seal the win and retain the title.

The match was a blast—LA Knight is on another level right now, and it shows.

Before Knight can celebrate, though, Shinsuke Nakamura makes his shocking return, blindsiding the champ! Nakamura leaves Knight laid out in the ring. Guess who’s next in line for the title? Maybe at Survivor War Games? Count me in!

Back to the hunt for the fifth member: The Usos and Sami are still on it, and they step into Roman Reigns’ locker room. Sami points out they’re running out of time, and Jey asks Roman if he’s made “that call.”

Cut to the ring, where Solo Sikoa and his New Bloodline faction are soaking up the boos. Solo grabs the mic and demands the crowd “acknowledge him,” but, as always, it backfires. Bro, you’re not the OG Tribal Chief!

Suddenly, Roman Reigns’ music hits, and the OG Bloodline storms the ring. Tensions boil over, and all hell breaks loose! Jimmy Uso takes out Tama and Loa with a dive, Jacob Fatu goes wild, and Roman spears Solo mid-Samoan Spike attempt.

Just when it looks like the OGs are gaining the upper hand, Bronson Reed storms in and lays waste to everyone, siding with Solo’s crew! The chaos ends with Solo’s faction standing tall over a fallen Roman Reigns.

This was wild—a banger segment that took the Bloodline civil war to new heights. Bronson Reed as Solo’s fifth guy is a huge twist. But the real question is, who’s Roman calling to even the odds? Seth? Paul Heyman??

The main event closes the night:

WWE Women’s Championship – Nia Jax (c) vs. Naomi

Nia Jax, with Tiffany Stratton and her MITB briefcase in tow, steps up to defend her title against a fired-up Naomi. The match is intense from the start, with Nia using her power and Naomi relying on speed and precision.

Outside the ring, Naomi takes control until Tiffany sneaks in a low blow. Meanwhile, backstage, chaos erupts as Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez ambush Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.

Back in the ring, Naomi comes close to winning with a split-legged moonsault, but Nia capitalizes on the distractions. With help from Tiffany and Candice LeRae, Nia hits the devastating Annihilator to retain her title.

Post-match, Nia and her crew celebrate while Naomi is left heartbroken. Naomi’s performance was stellar, and she definitely deserves a title run soon.

The show ends backstage with a battered Roman Reigns finally making that phone call… only to find out Paul Heyman changed his number. Confused and rattled, Roman leaves us with more questions than answers.

Final thoughts: A solid episode with plenty of action and drama. The Bloodline civil war storyline keeps getting better, and that main event was pure fire. Not every match hit, but it’s worth tuning in for the highlights.

See y’all Tuesday for my RAW review!

Xoxo,

Selena
