Smackdown 30th August!

What’s up, WWE addicts! We’re back with another lit episode of Smackdown, right before Bash in Berlin! This time, we’re coming to you from the epic Uber Arena in Berlin! By the way, the WWE European Tour was dope... would’ve been sick to catch the whole thing instead of just snippets on Instagram. Maybe throw it on the WWE Network? Just saying!

We’re kicking things off with a bang—LA Knight is here! Our United States Champ just dropped an open challenge for the title. Who’s got the guts to step up and take that “beatdown”? The crowd is hyped as usual! And who answers the call? None other than Ludwig Kaiser! Like Michael Cole said, makes sense!

Kaiser gets a warm welcome and starts speaking in German. Maybe tone it down a bit, bro, ‘cause not everyone got that, ya feel me? Anyway, he tells LA Knight that if he’s really the champ he claims to be, he should wanna face the best. And who’s the best in Germany? Obviously, Ludwig Kaiser! Gotta admit, that gave me a little chuckle. Kaiser then vows that after he beats Knight, he’s gonna turn the U.S. title into his own personal "European Championship."

LA Knight laughs it off, saying that’s impressive... for Gunther’s stooge. He tells Kaiser he’s not gonna win; instead, he’ll be flat on the mat for the three count, while everyone shouts "LA Knight, yeah!"

And here we go with the United States Championship match—LA Knight vs. Ludwig Kaiser.

The match kicks off, and the crowd’s all in for Kaiser, who’s clearly got some skills and, of course, he’s the hometown hero! Kaiser starts with an armbar, but LA Knight flips it. After a back-and-forth, Kaiser gains control, hammering LA Knight in the corner. The ref steps in, and LA Knight seizes the moment to take Kaiser down with a clothesline, sending him out of the ring. Knight lifts him and slams him onto the apron, but Kaiser fights back, shoving Knight into the steel steps, and ends the first round with a dropkick that smashes Knight into the steps again.

Back from the break, Kaiser’s still in charge, landing punches and a brutal kick to the face. Knight fires back, slamming Kaiser into the announce table and dragging him back into the ring for a neckbreaker. He goes for the pin, but Kaiser kicks out. LA Knight hits a running knee, but Kaiser counters with a kick to the face. Another pin attempt, but still no luck. Kaiser looks like he’s got this, hits his "Kaiser Roll," and almost pins the champ, but LA Knight ain’t giving up. With a burst of strength, Knight flips Kaiser and finishes him off with the BFT, sealing the win with a pin.

And the winner is still our beloved United States Champion, LA Knight!!

Kudos to Ludwig for giving it his all, but LA Knight showed everyone who’s boss... with his signature style. Yeahhhh! Gotta say, even though I’m not the biggest fan of Ludwig Kaiser, he really brought it in this match. Maybe it’s the home crowd, but he definitely impressed me!

We’re on to the second match of the night with Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews taking on Legado del Fantasma, backed by Santos Escobar and Elektra Lopez!

The match kicks off with Crews and Berto in the ring. Crews comes out swinging with a dropkick and a vertical suplex. He goes for the pin, but Berto kicks out. Corbin tags in, but Berto quickly strikes back. Angel tags in and gets hit with a double clothesline from Corbin. Corbin charges at Angel with a clothesline and grabs him, but Angel shoves him into the corner and tags Berto back in. Legado del Fantasma double-teams Corbin, but he hangs tough and tags Crews back in. Crews tosses Angel out of the ring, and Corbin helps by launching Crews over the top rope right onto Legado del Fantasma. Talk about teamwork!

We’re back from the break, and Angel tries to spear Apollo in the corner, but Apollo dodges and tags Corbin. Berto tags in, and now all four guys are in the ring. Crews hits a German suplex on Angel and tries another on Berto, but Berto lands on his feet and nails Crews with a springboard kick. Angel floors Corbin with a superkick. Both guys run to the ropes and collide with a double crossbody. Corbin and Angel roll out of the ring, and Corbin slams Angel onto the announce table. Lopez distracts the ref, giving Santos Escobar the chance to slam Corbin into the steel steps. Apollo climbs to the top rope, but Berto counters with an arm drag. Angel tags in, and they hit Crews with the MTY. Angel covers and gets the pin.

Winners: Legado del Fantasma. The match was alright, nothing too crazy but not bad either—just a little meh if we’re being real.

And for the cherry on top, we get a taped promo from The Bloodline—or should I say, the fake Bloodline! Solo Sikoa announces they’ll be defending the tag titles next week against DIY and The Street Profits. He’s coming for everyone, name-dropping Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns, the real Bloodline! And he’s setting his sights on the winner of Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens. Gotta say, the dude’s got some big ambitions!

So we got Aldis in the ring, hyping up Bash in Berlin and the WWE's week of live events in Europe. He gives a shout out to everyone and says the main event to watch is the Undisputed WWE Championship match. He then introduces Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. Aldis wishes them good luck and dips out of the ring.

Owens, always the joker, asks Cody what he wants to talk about. Cody hits him with some German, leaving Owens all confused. Owens then brings up Cody’s knee, reminding him of that injury during the tour. Cody brushes it off, saying his knee's all good, but Owens keeps pushing, talking about last week’s match against A-Town Down Under.

Cody brings up the elephant in the room: at the end of the match, Owens handed him the title, but it looked like he was about to smack him with it. Owens denies it, saying every time he’s turned on someone, they deserved it. But he adds that he and Cody have always been tight, even with Cody’s dad.

Cody throws some shade: maybe Owens is salty because he’s not getting enough credit for the changes in the wrestling industry, while Cody’s in the spotlight. The crowd starts chanting "KO," but Owens claps back, saying he’d never hit Cody with a cheap shot, even though he knows Cody’s been hurt. Owens also mentions that yesterday marked 8 years since he won the Universal Title, but people still say he didn’t deserve it.

Owens then throws down the gauntlet: if Cody isn’t at 100%, what will people say when Owens beats him? Cody gets fired up, insisting his knee’s fine, but accuses Owens of being mad because Cody stole the spotlight, even when Owens was facing Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania.

Cody declares he’s gonna beat Owens and asks if they’ll still be friends after. The crowd shouts "Yes," but Owens tosses the mic, whispers something in Cody’s ear, and leaves the ring. And yeah, we got no clue what Owens said, but Cody looked a little shook!

Cody and Owens are boys, you can tell. Cody even said Owens is one of the few friends he’s got in the wrestling biz. It’s a weird rivalry, and Owens seems torn. Sure, he’s eyeing that title, but Cody’s his buddy! This is gonna be one hell of a match at Bash in Berlin! My money’s on Cody staying champ, but will Owens stay a friend and a face, or will he flip back to being a heel? We’re about to find out real soon!

Bottom line: The tension's through the roof, and the real fight’s just getting started!

Let's move on to the third match of the night: Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes!

The match kicks off with both athletes exchanging blows. Andrade tosses Carmelo out of the ring and nails him with a spectacular plancha. Carmelo fires back with a springboard clothesline, but Andrade trips him up on the ropes and lands a vicious double stomp.

During the commercial break, Andrade was in control, hitting a flying forearm and a double moonsault, but Carmelo held his ground and countered with his First 48 and a superkick. Still, Andrade wasn’t about to give up, and the two ended up pulling off a double Spanish Fly that left everyone in shock.

Back from the break, Andrade nailed a fall-away slam from the top rope and a spinning back elbow, but Carmelo kept kicking out. The match reached its climax when Andrade made a mistake, crashing face-first into the exposed turnbuckle. Carmelo didn’t miss the opportunity, climbed the top rope, and hit his finisher, “Nothing But Net,” to score the pinfall.

Winner: Carmelo Hayes!

What a match—ironic and incredible! Carmelo took the win in style, while Andrade might want to rethink getting too cozy with those turnbuckles! Gotta say, Carmelo’s been doing pretty well since his SmackDown debut. As for this feud... well, it’s a bit lukewarm, nothing too special, but we’ll see how it plays out!

And now, on to the final match of the night: Nia Jax vs. Michin in a WWE Women’s Championship, Street Fight Match!

The match starts with Michin storming in, armed to the teeth with a cart full of weapons. She immediately whacks Nia Jax with a kendo stick, but the champ isn’t fazed and tries to take control. Michin is on fire, pulling out tables and weapons from under the ring, but Nia shuts her down, slamming her right into the ring post.

After the commercial break, Nia is in charge, but Michin fights back with a fire extinguisher and a tornado DDT onto trash can lids. Even after that, Nia doesn’t go down. Michin sets up a table, but Nia smacks her with a chair and powerbombs her through the table.

Just when things look bleak for Michin, Tiffany Stratton shows up with her Money in the Bank briefcase, ready to cash in. After attacking Michin, it seems like Tiffany’s about to seize the

moment, but Bayley, who we haven’t seen since SummerSlam, crashes the party. Bayley chases Tiffany away, and Michin tries to roll up Nia, but the champ kicks out. In the end, Nia takes control with a Samoan Drop and finishes Michin off with the Annihilator, pinning her inside a trash can for the win.

Winner and still WWE Women’s Champion: Nia Jax!

Nia celebrates her victory as SmackDown goes off the air, leaving everyone wondering if Tiffany has learned her lesson: it’s not always gold that glitters, especially when Nia Jax is around! Honestly, I’m not sure how long this alliance between Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton is going to last—not long! Tiffany is clearly itching for that title, and a betrayal is just around the corner! We’ll see how it unfolds in the upcoming SmackDown episodes!

And that’s all for the SmackDown commentary, folks! Catch you tomorrow for the Bash in Berlin review!

Xoxo, Selena!
